Pilling using occurs when short or broken fibres on the outside of the fabric become tangled and form into a knot. The tangling happens during normal use with rubbing or abrasion against other materials. While the pills can appear anywhere on the clothing article, they tend to proliferate in high friction areas (under the arms, around the collar and cuffs).
To minimise pills you use a gentle wash cycle, hand wash, turn the items inside out, avoid damaging bleaches and use fabric softener.
However, the best was to have a professional looking garment is to choose anti-pill promotional apparel. Remember it is your brand image being portrayed beyond just your logo in the item.
Simply put, higher grade fibres are used in high-quality garments which naturally resist pilling. The few dollars an item it costs, are more than offset by longer life the garment achieves, the better the garment looks, the more times it gets worn, the more brand exposure you get!
